Our Founder - Robin W. Josef has volunteered her services to community programs for many years. After moving to Orlando, FL , she was compelled to join in the fight against the spread of HIV disease. In 2006, after many years of talking to thousands of people in literally hundreds of venues, the Office of Minority Health awarded Ms Josef with a plaque for her commitment to the health and solidarity of women in Orange County. In 2007, she was also recognized as, Woman of the Month by The Network-Orlando. In 2007 she was also a nominee for Humanitarian of the Year by the Central Florida Black History Committee; for pioneering HIV prevention and testing programs in under-served minority communities.
In 2007, Ms Josef was given a vision to established LIFE Recovery Council and sponsor, the Emerald Ribbon Campaign – which hosts the Week of Prayer For the Healing of Sexual Trauma. Currently, Ms Josef resides in Orlando, FL, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Education, while completing her second book, Being & Becoming, to be released April 2012.
Our Mission -LIFE (Living in the Father’s Embrace) Recovery Council, seeks to provide leadership in mobilizing faith-based organizations to provide education, guidance and support to victims of crime (domestic violence and sexual assault) and their families.
Our Vision – We envision a world where persons suffering from abuse can find refuge in the faith program of their choice through evidence-based programs specifically designed to help overcome the effects of being victimized.
